This Privacy Policy explains what Life's Song (“we,” “us,” or “Life’s Song”) collects when you use www.lifessong.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By using the service you agree to the practices described here. This page is a plain-language summary and is reviewed by counsel before launch.

What we collect

• Account information — your name and email address when you create an account or sign in.
• Genetic data — the DNA files, raw text, or codes you upload to generate a composition. This is the core input to your song and is handled with the highest level of care.
• Photos & written content — any photos, poems, life events, or memorial details you choose to add to a person or a composition.
• Payment information — handled entirely by our payment processor (Stripe). We never see or store your full card number.
• Usage data — basic, privacy-respecting information about how the service is used, to keep it working and improve it.

How we protect your DNA

Genetic data is encrypted at rest using AES-256. We do not sell your DNA, and we do not share it with advertisers, insurers, data brokers, law-enforcement databases, or any third party for their own purposes. Your DNA is used only to generate the music you ask us to create.

We do not interpret your DNA for health, disease, ancestry, or any medical purpose. Life’s Song turns genetic data into music — nothing more.

How we use your data

• To generate, store, and play back your compositions.
• To operate your account, process payments, and deliver downloads.
• To respond to support requests and send transactional emails.
• To keep the service secure and to comply with the law.

Your rights & choices

You can request access to, export of, or deletion of your data at any time, including your uploaded DNA. To do so, email support@lifessong.com with the subject prefix [Privacy]. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under the GDPR or CCPA; we honor verified requests within 30 days. Deleting your account removes your profiles and uploaded genetic data.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to keep the service running. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Children

Life’s Song is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data. Memorial compositions about a deceased child created by an adult family member are, of course, welcome and handled with care.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
